The ‘Happy Hour’ culture is booming in south west London. Why buy one when you can get two, and if you get the rest of the bottle free, it seems unwise to just buy the one small glass of wine. Be At One have embraced the happy hour whole-heartedly, and created a selection of successful and much-loved bars in the process, where listening to your favourite tunes whilst supping a Mojito, Mai Tai or first-class Capriosca is the norm. Those who have enjoyed the ever-popular branches in Battersea and Balham will know what I mean, and those who don’t should pay a visit to the latest member of the Be At One family, just opened in Putney and a welcome addition to the slightly jaded SW15 bar scene. Where Putney’s High Street has become overrun with bland chain-bars and soulless pubs, Be At One has filled the gap for a fun, young and enticing venue, not too pretentious but committed to promoting fun. Manager Alan Taylor is determined to "recreate some of the magic of the Battersea bar" and it’s apparent that he has not met much resistance. With happy hours from Sunday-Thursday 6pm-8pm, and Friday and Saturday 6pm-7pm, it would be unwise not to go along to see what all the fuss is about.
